Who We Are

It all began with a fire.  Our Treasure Hunt and Dirt cheap chains arose from a company established out of ashes over seventy years ago.  In 1938, H.C. Hudson's grocery store caught fire in the small community of Palmer's Crossing in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Hudson learned that after the insurance claim was paid, the insurance company would then sell his smoke-damaged groceries.  Hudson purchased his groceries from the insurance company and thus began his first salvage deal, "Smoky Groceries 50% Off."  Over the years the business expanded, adding other distressed situations such as manufacturer and retailer buybacks, closeouts, bankruptcies, overstocks, liquidations, customer returns and out of season goods.
